It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of Marhoom Hayatullah Haidari in Mashhad, Iran. The Marhoom was the father of Brother Reza Haidari, the grandfather of Sameh and Salman Haidari, the uncle of Omaid Haidari, and the cousin of Sayed Mohammad Hashmi. Majlis Fatiha and Khatem Quran will be held at Imam Ali Masjid on Saturday, April 18th, from 3 pm to 5 pm, concluding with nazr dinner on behalf of the Marhoom. The Majlis Fatiha and Khatem Quran is held by the grieving families of Haidari, Hashmi, Hussain, Naqawi, and Shah.

The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Friday, March 20th, 2026, will be the first day of the Shawwal, 1447 A.H. for the entire region of North America.
This determination is based on the fact that there were verified sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye at sunset on Thursday, March 19th, 2026, in many locations.

Ramadhan Quran Competition
To take advantage of this blessed month in which the Holy Quran was revealed, join us at Imam Ali Masjid for a Ramadhan Quran Competition on Friday, March 13th at the masjid during the nightly program.
There are different groups based on age with a specific surah assigned to each group. Participants are welcome to register within their age group or a group above if they wish. The judging will be based on memorization, pronunciation, and style. All participants will receive a prize, and the top three winners will also receive a special award. The competition is open to all.
