Ramadhan Quran Competition
To take advantage of this blessed month in which the Holy Quran was revealed, join us at Imam Ali Masjid for a Ramadhan Quran Competition on Friday, March 13th at the masjid during the nightly program.
There are different groups based on age with a specific surah assigned to each group. Participants are welcome to register within their age group or a group above if they wish. The judging will be based on memorization, pronunciation, and style. All participants will receive a prize, and the top three winners will also receive a special award. The competition is open to all.

Join us for the nightly Ramadhan program at Imam Ali Masjid starting from March 5th until the end of Ramadhan at Maghrib time (see flyer).
The program will begin with Maghrib and Isha prayers, followed by iftar, Arabic/ Farsi lecture with Sheikh Ahmed Ameeny, and English lecture with Sayed Mohammad Hassan AlSheraa. The night will conclude with the recitation of Dua Iftitah.
Additionally, on the nights of Laylatul Qadr, the Amaal will be performed after iftar. Special observances will also be held for the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS). May Allah bless you all.

Program starting at 6 pm with Maghrib & Isha prayers followed by iftar, speech, and recitation of Dua Kumayl.
The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Thursday, February 19th, 2026, will be the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan, 1447 A.H., for the entire region of North America.
This determination is based on the fact that there were no verified sightings of the crescent by the naked eye at sunset on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, in any region of North America, due to the impossibility of sighting. Therefore, for areas that started Shaban on Tuesday, January 20th, Wednesday will be the last day of Shaban. And for the areas that started Shaban on Wednesday, January 21st, Wednesday will be the 29th day of Shaban. However, based on the astronomical data, the crescent sighting on Wednesday night is certain; therefore, those areas will also observe February 19th as the first day of Ramadan.
